This week's wash day post is a little late and basically a trial of new products. I went to visit my sister and did not bring any of my products with me (smart), and I stretched this wash day an additional two days from both lack of products and time; but as it turns out my sister had an arsenal of Organix products (which I have been dying to try) so I was super excited when I finally decided to wash my hair. Things went a bit differently this time around...
- I usually pre-poo with my boo Hot Six Oil, but since I was away from home and my sister didn't have any oil I had to use conditioner. I sectioned my hair, grabbed her Organix Coconut Milk Conditioner and applied a generous amount to each section. I combed the conditioner through using my wide-toothed shower comb and secured each section into a bun before applying a plastic conditioning cap and letting the conditioner sit for about 35 minutes.
- Releasing one section at a time, I rinsed the conditioner before applying a nickel-sized amount of Organix Coconut Milk Shampoo and working it through my roots gently then through the length of my hair. I noticed this shampoo did not cling to my hair or scalp and left it feeling both soft and strong. After rinsing the shampoo I wrung the excess water from my hair and blotted it gently with a t-shirt before securing it and moving on to the next section.
- Then I applied a quarter-sized amount of Organix Argan Oil of Morocco Renewing Conditioner to each section focusing on the ends before moving the product up my hair shaft. As I combed the conditioner through I noticed my hair was extremely soft and detangling was a breeze. I secured each section in a bun before applying a plastic conditioning cap and sitting beneath a hooded dryer for 20 minutes. I allowed the conditioner to cool for another 10 minutes before rinsing first with warm water then sealing with cool water.
- After wringing the excess water from my hair and blotting it dry with my t-shirt I applied a pea-sized amount of Organix Moroccan Argan Penetrating Oil Treatment followed by my ORS Moisturizing Hair Lotion down the length of my strands, focusing on the ends. I combed the product through using my wide tooth shower comb then began setting my hair on flex rods.
- As usual I used a combination of grey and purple rods but somehow I ran out and had to throw in a few blue rods as well. Before rodding I made sure to thoroughly smooth my hair using my boar-bristle round brush. Once the rods were installed I sat beneath a hooded dryer for 1 hour on warm, and 1 hour on high; then air dried for another 3 hours.
